A Peterborough woman has been cited by state police for an unsafe lane change after a crash on Route 101 in Bedford early Wednesday morning that sent a Hudson man to the hospital.
Claudia Dery, 57, of Peterborough was driving an SUV when she made an unsafe lane change, according to state policeโs preliminary investigation, which caused the SUV to collide with a tractor-tractor.
State police responded around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday to a crash on Route 101 in Bedford at the eastbound ramp for the Everett Turnpike South. While making an unsafe lane change, an SUV collided with a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 57-year-old D Bruce Van Veelen, of Hudson sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Upon the collision, one of the saddle fuel tanks of the tractor-trailer was ruptured, causing a fuel spill. Due to both the fuel spill and the injuries, additional state police from Troop G responded to the crash. Bedford Fire and the Department of Environmental Services also came and helped with the crash and the clean-up. All lanes remained open during both the incident and the clean-up. The clean-up took several hours.
State police are asking any with information about the crash contact Trooper Doug Bailey Jr. at Troop B in Bedford at Douglas.Bailey@dos.nh.gov or by phone at (603) 223-4381.
