The Jaffrey Historical Society made its new home official on Saturday, with a bevy of volunteers moving the collection of artifacts and archives from the basement of the Civic Center to the former town office building.

The Jaffrey town offices moved into their new home, the next-door former TD Bank in the fall, leaving the former office on Goodnow Street empty. The Historical Society stepped into the space left behind, which has ample room for its growing collection and is more accessible and visible to the public.

Bird sculptures, archived documents and an antique wheel were among the treasures transported over the weekend.

After some renovations, including new paint and carpets, the Historical Society officially moved in on Saturday, using over two dozen volunteers who helped load and unload boxes and artifacts and leant their cars and trucks to the effort. In traditional fashion, the helpers were rewarded with a pizza.
