One person died and two were flown to a hospital from the scene of a two-car crash in Dublin on Tuesday evening.
Around 5:22 p.m., the Dublin Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Route 137 at Goldmine Road, according to a press release. Upon arrival, emergency responders encountered multiple injured people, including occupants who were entrapped in the vehicles.
Timothy Sirois of Dublin, 68, died as a result of injuries from the crash, police said.
James Picotte of Dublin, 62, and Sirois were traveling south on Route 137 in a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox when Picotte crossed into the center lane, colliding head-on with 42-year-old Timothy Wilder of Jaffrey, according to the press release. Wilder was driving a 2017 Mazda 3.
Wilder and Picotte were transported by helicopter, the UMass LifeFlight, to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. They remain in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The Dublin Police Department is still investigating the cause of the crash.
Route 137 was closed in the area of the crash for roughly two-and-a-half hours while emergency personnel worked at the scene and police investigated. The roadway has since reopened.
The Dublin Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Dublin Fire Department/Rescue, Jaffrey Fire Department, Peterborough Fire Department, Jaffrey Police Department, Marlborough Police Department, Gauthier’s Towing and UMass LifeFlight.
In its press release, the Dublin Police Department thanked the witnesses and bystanders who stepped in to assist at the scene prior to and during the emergency response.
