Peterborough Elementary School second graders Gracie Hanson, Catie Pickert and Ember Lively are the winners of the Peterborough Master Plan button contest.
Hansonโs design featured a bird and tree, Pickertโs featured the Town House and Livelyโs featured a cat.
โWe thought each of these designs appropriately represented different aspects and chapters of Peterborough: natural resources and open space; local government and historic resources; and the arts and cultural resources, respectively,โ said Trisha Cheever, energy and community planner in Peterboroughโs Office of Planning and Building.
Thirty students participated in the competition, and the Peterborough Select Board weighed in on favorites to help determine the final selections.
โEvery submission was truly wonderful,โ Cheever said. โWeโve already begun distributing the buttons, and theyโve been very well received. Itโs been especially rewarding to see residents proudly wearing and displaying them around town after participating in the Master Plan process.โ
