Former Bennington resident Bill Nevins recently participated in Wreaths Across America Radioโ€™s โ€œAfter the Knockโ€ interview series, sharing memories of his late son, Sgt. 1st Class Liam J. Nevins, a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier killed in Afghanistan in 2013.

During the interview, Nevins discussed his role as a Gold Star parent, his poetry and reflections on military service and remembrance. He also spoke about his familyโ€™s years living in Bennington and memories of the community.

Liam J. Nevins was born Sept. 11, 1981, and was killed in action in Afghanistan on Sept. 21, 2013.

The โ€œAfter the Knockโ€ series is produced by Wreaths Across America Radio and features conversations with Gold Star families, veterans and others connected to the organizationโ€™s mission of honoring fallen service and supporting military families.
