The Peterborough Lions Club will offer free eye screenings and event sponsorship during the Monadnock Railroad Club Train Show on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peterborough Community Center.
Through the Lions Club’s nationwide Operation KidSight program, volunteers will provide noninvasive digital vision screenings to detect conditions such as amblyopia, astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness, misaligned eyes, and unequal pupil sizes. While the program focuses on children ages 6 months to 6 years, screenings will be available to any attendee who wishes to be tested.
The club also recently sponsored a Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County Community Dining luncheon at the Peterborough Community Center. Meals on Wheels provides monthly community meals at the center and across Hancock, Temple, and Wilton, and served 4,855 meals to 42 Peterborough residents across all its nutrition programs in state fiscal year 2026.
