SELECT BOARD

Name: Bob Edwards

Position Sought: Select Board

Relevant Experience: I have served on the Antrim Select Board for eight years.  I am a 55-year resident of Antrim, and have served as a Trustee of Trust Funds, Planning Board member, and as part of my Select Board responsibilities, I have served with the Water & Sewer Department, Recreation Department, and Select Board Advisory Committee at the Conval School District. I am currently the School District moderator and serve as a board member on the NH Municipal Association and as chairman of the Assessing Standards Board in Concord.

Why are you running? The reason for seeking another term is to continue to work with others on a state and local level to help address the challenges facing small New Hampshire communities.

What is your most important issue? The complexity of 21st century municipal management demands select boards of today continue educating themselves on new and better management practices, making a greater time commitment to the position, becoming knowledgeable about legislation that will impact our town in many different ways.

TOWN CLERK

Name: Ann Gilbert

Position Sought: Town Clerk

Relevant Experience: Antrim Interim Town Clerk

Why are you running: I would like the opportunity to continue in public service after my retirement from the Internal Revenue Service.

What is your most important issue? I am focused on strengthening public confidence and ensuring legal compliance.  I believe that anything that is material to an Antrim resident is material to me.

TOWN TREASURER

Name:  Diane Chauncey

Age: 75

Position Sought: Town Treasurer

Relevant experience:  Employed by the Town of Antrim for 20 years, Planning Department secretary, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, prepared bank deposits for the treasurer

Why are you running? Having recently retired, I would like to continue working for the town.

What is your most important issue? To enhance the role of treasurer with reconciling reports on a daily basis, monthly reports, quarterly meetings with the selectmen, annual reports, in general, to make the treasury role more transparent.

TOWN TREASURER

Name: Helene Newbold

Position Sought: Town Treasurer

Relevant Experience: Treasurer of First Presbyterian Church for 22 years, handled income, expenses, payroll, federal taxes, social security, and Medicare, filing W-2s or 1099s for employees, created monthly operating reports and annual report. Treasurer of Antrim Historical Society, and manage income and expenses for Antrim Home and Harvest. I was a math teacher for 25 years and have a master’s degree in mathematics.

Why are you running? I would like to give back to the town using the skills I have. Thank you for considering me for the position of treasurer.

What is your most important issue? The most important issues for me are making sure all procedures are being followed and that there is transparency with the public as to how their taxes are being spent.

PLANNING BOARD

Name: Dennis Young

Position Sought: Planning Board

Relevant Experience: Planning Board, volunteer for Antrim Grange, Antrim Bennington Lions Club, Antrim Historical Society, and the Grapevine.

What is your most important issue? I would like the opportunity to continue as Planning Board member to continue the work on the Antrim Master Plan and the
Complete Streets grant, along with working towards increasing
affordable housing options within the town of Antrim.

COMMUNITY BOARD

Name: James Panico

Age: 43

Position Sought:  Community Board

Relevant experience: Alternate member, Antrim Community Board. Over 15 years of creative experience in marketing and graphic design. Organizer of the annual Antrim Festival of Trees for the past three years. Active volunteer with the Antrim-Bennington Lions Club and The Grapevine. Contributor to the Antrim Beautification Project, Business Fair, and town farmstand list.

Why are you running? I want to use my creative background to help neighbors connect, support local initiatives, and strengthen our vibrant, small-town community spirit for all residents.

What is your most important issue? Improving community outreach and communication to ensure every resident knows about and can easily access our townโ€™s local resources, programs and volunteer events.

LIBRARY TRUSTEE

Name: Rick Wood

Age: 65

Position Sought: J.A. Tuttle Library Trustee, 3-year term

Relevant experience: Previous six years as a Tuttle Library trustee, two as chairperson, currently library trustee treasurer for the past three years.

Why are you running? Iโ€™d like to continue to work with the library director, staff and trustees to continue improve the library services seen over the last six years.

What is your most important issue? Supporting the director and staff in identifying new ways to service the patrons of the Town of Antrim while being financially responsible to taxpayers.
