MacDowell has awarded 149 fellowships to artists from 25 states, Washington, D.C., and 16 countries for its fall 2025 โ€“ winter 2026 residency season.

Selected from 1,697 applicants, the Fellows will spend an average of four weeks at the Peterborough campus between September and February. Disciplines include architecture, music composition, film, theatre, visual arts, literature and interdisciplinary arts.

MacDowell, founded in 1907, is the nationโ€™s first artist residency program and annually hosts about 300 artists, offering private studios, housing and meals.

The next application deadline, for the Spring/Summer 2026 residency season, is Sept. 10, 2025.
