The Peterborough Recreation Department will host several free events in September for residents ages 50 and older.
On Friday, Sept. 5, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., naturalist Susie Spikol will present “NH Black Bears” at the Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm St.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a one-mile group hike at Fremont Land on Old Jaffrey Road. Participants must be able to walk the distance.
A senior barbecue will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Adams Playground gazebo on Union Street with lunch served at noon. Attendees should bring a chair. A rain date is Wednesday, Sept. 24.
