Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., is hosting a program on end-of-life planning Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
A long-term care crisis can devastate a family and its finances. At this free seminar, attorney Edward Beasley will discuss how to protect against the potentially catastrophic effects of a nursing-home stay, protecting trusts from nursing-home costs, shielding inheritance funds from outside creditors and divorcing spouses of adult children, avoiding the probate process and more. Greg Gagne of Affinity Investment Group will provide financial and economic insight.
Beasley has been practicing elder law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for 30 years, with a focus on helping people protect their home and life savings. A Dartmouth alum, Beasley is the author of several books on the subject, including “Trusts for the Average Person: The Optimum Estate Plan” and “Estate Planning for the Informed Consumer.”
Gagne is founder of Affinity Investment Group, which offers wealth management and distribution-planning services for retirees or those planning to retire. The past president of New Hampshire’s chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, he is a frequent presenter on these subjects and has also co-authored “Trusts for the Average Person: The Optimum Estate Plan” and “Estate Planning for the Informed Consumer.”
