Profile High School defeated ConVal High School 520-270 in the Granite State Challenge quarterfinals, pulling ahead in the final round after a closely contested start.
The match, recorded in Durham, was tied 90-90 after the opening round. ConVal gained ground in the “Three Strikes and You’re Out” round, correctly answering six questions to Profile’s two, and both teams performed strongly in the 60-second round.
ConVal held a narrow lead entering the final round, but Profile surged ahead by consistently winning buzzer opportunities and controlling the remainder of the match.

Profile was led by captain Maddie Perkins, a senior, along with seniors Moses Rolfe, Wyatt Wright and Raiden Valentine. The team is coached by Jill Brewer and Paul Savard. The Bethlehem-based school serves about 130 students from several North Country communities.
ConVal, led by senior captain Ben Michaud, included teammates Ben Ferrisi, Vincent Hollenbeck and Iris Palmer. The team is coached by Eric Bowman and Chris Heider. ConVal High School enrolls about 630 students from nine towns in the Monadnock region.
The decisive final question asked which rapper known for “99 Problems” collaborated with Beyoncé on “Crazy in Love.” The correct answer was Jay-Z.
Profile advances to the semifinals. The next quarterfinal matchup, featuring Bow High School and Plymouth Regional High School, is scheduled to air April 23 at 8:30 p.m.
