The Mariposa Museum and World Culture Center at 26 Main St. in Peterborough is displaying Shane Pickett’s “Djinong Djina Boodja” (“Look at the Land That I Have Traveled”) Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., until Oct. 16

Pickett, who died in 2010, was one of Western Australia’s most-significant contemporary Aboriginal artists. Featuring 29 works from the most-radical phase of his career, this exhibit, the result of a collaboration with the Embassy of Australia in Washington, D.C., the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia and the Mossenson Art Foundation in Perth, Australia, is the first presentation of Pickett’s work in the United States.

Pickett’s paintings capture the transformations of the country near Perth in the southwest of Australia in ever-changing ways.

Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children.
