The Great Brook School in Antrim hosted a festive pumpkin carving potluck on Tuesday for fifth-grade students and their families. The event brought together over 20 students and 60 family members for an evening of food, fellowship and festive fun.

Participating families brought dishes to share. Shaw’s of Hillsborough provided a pumpkin for every fifth grader, and Recycled Illuminations, a local Antrim business, donated carving tools, drop cloths and battery-operated votive candles.

Kids carved all kinds of designs into their pumpkins, from faces to owls to bats to a starry night sky. The pumpkins were then placed on display with their votive candles lit for the group to see.

“What a great way to build community, make connections and celebrate the season,” said fifth-grade teacher Patrick Cogan.
