Robert Putnam and Shaylyn Garrett will speak on “The Upswing: How America Came Together a Century Ago and How We Can Do It Again” as part of the Amos Fortune Forum lecture series Friday, July 15, from 8 to 9 p.m. at Jaffrey Center Meetinghouse, Route 124 and Ainsworth Way in Jaffrey Center.
They will speak about lessons for the current time from an earlier era, when a group of reformers righted the ship, putting society on a path toward once again being based on community.
The event is free, and donations are welcome.
