A Dublin man facing federal drug charges will have his court date delayed once again, as he is still on a waiting list for a treatment program.

Jesse E. Dennis, 31, was due to stand trial on Oct. 18, but his trial has now been rescheduled for a two-week period beginning on Dec. 13. His attorney, Jeffrey Levin, filed the motion on Sept. 22 requesting a continuance so Dennis can enter into the Therapeutic Community Program at the Strafford County House of Corrections.ย

โ€œThe defendant has completed all prerequisites for consideration for admission into the TC program, and his application is still pending,โ€ read the motion. โ€œThe defendant moves the Court for a further continuance so he can enter, participate in, and complete the program.โ€

Dennis was arraigned on April 25 on two charges โ€“ย attempt to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of materials to manufacture methamphetamine โ€“ย after Keene police arrested him in the Walmart parking lot on Jan. 13. Dennis allegedly had all the materials to make methamphetamine inside his vehicle and was driving around the parking lot hitting shopping carts.ย

Judge Landya B. McCafferty granted the motion on Sept. 26. A final pretrial conference has been rescheduled for Dec. 13. This is the third time Dennisโ€™ trial has been postponed.ย
