A Rindge man who defrauded investors out of almost $28 million is scheduled to appear in what should be his final court date.
A restitution hearing has been scheduled for Aaron E. Olson on June 30.
Olson is scheduled to have to pay back defrauded investors over $13 million, according to prosecuting attorney Mark Zuckerman. Court documents say that a restitution schedule has been completed by the state.
Olson will be represented pro hac vice by Inga L. Parsons, a Massachusetts attorney. Pro hac vice means for this occasion only.
Olson needed a new attorney after his previous attorney, Michael J. Connolly, had motioned to withdraw in May. Connolly was one of three attorneys to withdraw from representing Olson, and one of two that cited irreconcilable differences as a reason.
Olson was sentenced back in April to five years in federal prison today (Friday), with an additional three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to four counts of tax fraud. Olson is also ordered to pay a $400 special assessment.
Olson is currently serving out his prison sentence in FMC Devens Correctional Institute. Olson had offices in Jaffrey and Rindge, and was convicted of mixing his investor’s money with his own accounts. Olson had spent $2.6 million for his own use, defrauding investors out of $27.8 million.
