The Union Congregational Church of Peterborough and the Peterborough United Methodist Church, with support from All Saints Church, hosted a Day of Caring on Saturday, Aug. 15, offering free food, groceries, haircuts, and hygiene supplies to local community members.
The event featured a mobile food pantry and clothes closet provided by Rise Again Outreach and Boxes of Love, a nonprofit organization that assists people in transition. Local stylists volunteered their time to provide free barbering and haircuts, and volunteers distributed hygiene kits and personal items for adults and children.
Representatives from local social service agencies, including the Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter, attended to share resources with guests. Live music for the event was performed by the group Three Shades of Gray.
