Children and the Arts Day
This single day
Amidst the blossoms of May
Like no other before
Or after
Fills my heart with mirth
For this good earth
And touches my soul
With laughter
Creations rise high
Into the blue sky
Dreams now embraced
In poor plaster…
Finding life of their own
In this country home
Where for a day
The children are Master
Yet as we gently depart
Hear a whisper to the heart:
Salvation’s very start
May be found in youth and art.
