Keene, NH – Eva-Lynn “Evie” Loy, formerly Eva-Lynn Liberman, passed away on July 23, 2026, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, New York, after a short and courageous battle with uterine cancer. She was born on November 26, 1946, in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, New York.
Evie attended Scarsdale High School and earned her B.A. from the University of Vermont. She went on to earn a master’s degree in elementary education and taught third grade in Yorktown Heights, New York, for several years. She had two daughters, Tracy and Cari-Anne, whom she raised in Concord, Massachusetts.
Evie lived life with a warmth and hopefulness that touched everyone around her. She had a beautiful smile and a positive spirit that never seemed to dim. She had friendships that dated back to childhood and was always making new friends throughout her life.
An extraordinary artist, Evie followed her passion with determination, returning to graduate school in her late forties to earn a master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was a gifted painter whose work was exhibited in galleries and shows throughout New England and New York. She also loved the outdoors, taking walks in nature and capturing its beauty through photography.
In the summer of 2001, Evie married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Loy. Together, they built a life filled with love, creativity, music, good food, and laughter. They lived in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, and later in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where they spent many happy years until Bob’s passing in 2011. Evie spent the past seven years in Keene, New Hampshire.
Evie was predeceased by her husband, Bob; her parents, Maxwell and Estelle Schultz; her brother, Philip Schultz; and her sister, Arlene Schultz.
She is survived by her two daughters and her five beloved grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.
Above all, Evie adored her family and cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, optimism, and beautiful spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough, New Hampshire. All who knew and loved Evie are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life.
