Fifteen students from Project Shakespeare and their families recently returned from a three-day educational theater trip to the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
The Stratford Festival is North America’s largest classical repertory theater company. Its 2026 season features a dozen productions, including classical works, contemporary dramas and musicals.
During the trip, the New Hampshire students attended a variety of productions, including William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” “Othello” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” as well as “The Death of a Salesman,” “Waiting for Godot,” “The Importance of Being Earnest,” “Guys and Dolls” and “Something Rotten!” The students also participated in “talkback” sessions with cast members, including Canadian actor Paul Gross, to learn about character development and theater production.
Kaitlynn Shea, assistant to Project Shakespeare founder and director Deborah Shakespeare Thurber, supervised the group during the trip.
The participating students included Lachlan Linn-Boggs, Lillianna Helsel, Tess Geana, Emmy Ratcliffe, Benjamin Michaud, Lif Petrova, Max Michaud, Elise Nicklin, Miranda Pipitone, Corbin Sanders, Jem Russell, Henry McDonald, Riley Hammer, Madelyn Hammer and Eliza Hammer.
Based in Jaffrey, Project Shakespeare is a theater education organization focused on student development through the dramatic arts.
