Natalie Preble, an Antrim resident and physics and mathematics double major at Muhlenberg College, has been awarded a $10,000 Rossing Physics Scholarship. Preble, a member of the class of 2027, is one of three students across 28 eligible institutions to receive the top award this year.
The Thomas D. Rossing Fund for Physics Education awards annual scholarships to physics students at colleges and universities affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The fund was established by the late physics scholar Thomas D. Rossing through the Foundation of the ELCA to support students demonstrating academic excellence.
Preble is currently conducting undergraduate research on campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania, alongside Adam Clark, chair of the physics department. Their work focuses on Lorentz-violating quantum field theories and the AdS/CFT correspondence. This marks Preble’s third summer of research at Muhlenberg. She plans to apply to physics doctoral programs this fall.
