In honor of Flag Day, the local Mary Varnum Platts-Peterborough Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution distributed flags to kindergarten and first-grade students at four area schools.

The flags were awarded to students who successfully recited the Pledge of Allegiance at Mascenic Grade School, Jaffrey Grade School, Temple Grade School and Rindge Grade School.
