Deborah Hughgill

Starks, ME – Deborah Hughgill, born on January 9, 1968, in Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Starks, Maine. She will be remembered as a shining light to all who knew her-a woman whose kindness, warmth, and generosity filled every room she entered.

Deborah (Deb) was always ready to care for others, whether by offering a helping hand, lending a listening ear, or sharing love in the simple, everyday moments that meant so much to those around her.

She leaves behind her loving partner of 26 years, Mark Fields. Deb raised her stepchildren, Toni, Chelsea, and Shawn, as her own from the time they were little. She was their biggest supporter and took great pride in all they accomplished. She also cherished her beloved grandchildren, Thea, Emma, Cecilia, Josephine, Elise, and Myah. She is also survived by her daughter, Cassandra Fairburn; her grandson, Kade; and her three brothers, Robert, Glenn, and Timothy.

Deb found joy in gardening and canning, and her flowers were always flourishing. She had a gentle heart for animals and loved her pets, as well as caring for the wildlife that visited her yard, even buying food for the deer that came by. Her greatest pastime and passion, however, was her horses. She loved horseback riding and treasured the peace and happiness she found while spending time with them. Above all, Deb loved her friends and family unconditionally. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and in the love she gave so freely.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Crane Hughgill Sr.; her mother, Janey Crowner Hughgill; her brother, Alan; her sisters, Sheila and Sheri; and her granddaughter, Elena.

In Deb’s memory, donations may be made to the animal charity of your choice.
