Downtown Peterborough will kick off its 14th year of Friday Night, Summertime Music in the Park on July 10, featuring a diverse lineup of New England musicians playing genres from jazz and rock to a cappella and contemporary Irish folk.
The free, public concerts will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday through Aug. 28 at Depot Park, located at the confluence of the Contoocook and Nubanusit rivers. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, lawn chairs, and blankets. Ample free, accessible parking is available. In the event of rain, performances will move inside to the Peterborough Town Hall.
The 2026 concert schedule includes:
- July 10 — Silk Purse: Making their series debut, this Linda Ronstadt tribute band delivers a high-energy journey through the legendary singer’s catalog.
- July 17 — Wyld Nightz: New to the series, this Brattleboro, Vermont-based rock band features diverse covers and powerful vocals designed to get crowds dancing.
- July 24 — Honey Train Band: Another newcomer, this Boston-area group brings a versatile mix of soulful R&B, funk, and high-energy hits.
- July 31 — Club Soda: Returning for a third year, this four-piece band is known for rich vocal harmonies spanning a wide range of musical genres.
- Aug. 7 — Sugar Kings: A recurring crowd favorite, the band brings a multicultural celebration of music featuring reggae, salsa, and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
- Aug. 14 — Paul Klemperer Band: An original performer from the series’ inaugural year, Klemperer returns from Austin, Texas, to perform classic jazz standards.
- Aug. 21 — Ball in the House: The Boston-based, award-winning a cappella group returns with high-energy pop/R&B harmonies and synchronized choreography.
- Aug. 28 — Ishna: Closing out the summer series, this contemporary Irish folk band is fronted by global touring veterans Ciaran Nagle, an Irish tenor, and fiddler/vocalist Tara Novak.
