The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has launched the Summer EBT program for 2026 to help low-income families purchase groceries while school is out of session.
The program provides a one-time benefit of $120 per eligible child. Funds are issued on a separate Summer EBT card, though existing cards from prior years will be automatically reloaded. Eligibility and distribution are broken down into three categories:
- Group 1 (Automatic Enrollment): No action is required for children attending a New Hampshire public school whose families are enrolled in SNAP or TANF, or who received free or reduced-price school meals during the 2025–2026 school year and are on Medicaid. Families who need to replace a lost card from last year can call 603-271-7373.
- Group 2 (Address Confirmation Required): Families of children who received free or reduced-price school meals in 2025–2026, but are not enrolled in SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid, must confirm their current mailing address to receive their card. Head of households can do this by visiting nheasy.nh.gov and clicking the Summer EBT portal link on the homepage.
- Group 3 (Application Required): Families who do not meet the criteria for the first two groups may still apply if they have school-aged children and a household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.
Applications can be submitted online at nheasy.nh.gov. For more information regarding the program, residents can visit dhhs.nh.gov/summerebt.
