Chris Gallant wants your antiques, silver and gold jewelry, rusty tools, all types of collectables, homemade crafts and anything else slightly interesting in the back of your closet.

“If it can fit through that door,” Gallant said.

RE-SELL, a new consignment shop in the Peterborough Monadnock Community Plaza, opened June 1 and is ready to consign and sell preloved treasures.

‘Everything wrapped into one’

Gallant started his journey as a consignment retail worker more than 20 years ago.

After returning from his time in the army, he began working in secondhand stores.

Before bringing his talents to Peterborough, he managed a store in Nashua. Compared to his new store, he said his previous job was in a 15,000-square-foot warehouse, where he bought 80 to 90% of the store’s pre-owned items.

Originally from Bennington, Gallant remembers attending local yard and tag sails with his mom.

“I grew up in this area, so I kind of know the culture and the pulse and the vibe,” he said.

With his outgoing energy and love of learning new things, Gallant exemplifies a thrifter’s attitude.

“I was always a thrifter, a hunter of cool, interesting things,” he said.

With two decades of experience, this is Gallant’s first time owning his own store.

“It’s exciting and scary and everything all wrapped into one,” he said.

Everyone is welcome

RE-SELL takes all types of items, including jewelry, tools, video games, coins, clothes, furniture and more.

Gallant said he also wants to showcase local artisans and crafts in the store. Currently, he has a few vendors selling their handmade crafts or collections, including someone with an extensive assortment of purses.

He hopes to switch up the inventory every 90 days as well as expand the store to Facebook Marketplace, eBay and Etsy.

“There’s nothing quite like what we do here,” Gallant said.
