State Rep. Mary Murphy, R-Francestown, has announced her bid for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives, seeking to retain her seat in Hillsborough County District 27, which represents Deering and Francestown.
During her first term, Murphy focused heavily on local education and childcare initiatives. She served as the prime sponsor for House Bill 1374, which permits cooperative school district towns to withdraw from a district without requiring the permission of other member municipalities.
Additionally, Murphy co-sponsored House Bill 1433, an initiative aimed at reducing a 12-month backlog in childcare availability. Both pieces of legislation passed through the House and Senate and are currently awaiting the governor’s signature.
For her upcoming campaign, Murphy is highlighting her “NH Advantage 2.0” strategy, a three-pronged revenue plan designed to fund municipal property tax relief by expanding trade and out-of-state corporate fees rather than pursuing local overdevelopment.
The strategy has received backing from the Business and Industry Association, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs.
If re-elected, Murphy stated her top legislative priorities will include property tax relief, boosting education proficiency scores, addressing regional wireless service costs and unreliability, and lowering healthcare costs across the state.
