More than 100 parishioners from three local Catholic churches gathered in downtown Peterborough on Sunday to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi with a traditional Eucharistic procession.

The event drew 106 faithful from Divine Mercy Church in Peterborough, St. Patrick Church in Jaffrey, and Sacred Heart Church in Greenville.

The Very Rev. Arockia Antony and Deacon Dennis Marquis led the public procession through downtown streets with prayers and hymns, concluding with a blessing for the participants and the wider community.

Corpus Christi, a major feast day in the Catholic Church, honors the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and is traditionally marked by public processions.
