Family caregivers in New Hampshire now have access to expanded support services through the AARP and United Way Worldwide Caregiver Support Program offered through the 211 helpline.
The program, launched in 2021, connects caregivers with local resources and services through the free, confidential 211 system, which is available 24 hours a day in more than 180 languages.
New Hampshire is among 10 states recently added to the program, which now serves 32 states and Puerto Rico and is available to an estimated 36 million family caregivers nationwide.
According to AARP, about 281,000 New Hampshire residents provide care for family members or loved ones.
Through the program, caregivers can receive referrals for services such as transportation, food delivery, respite care, veterans’ benefits and emotional support, as well as assistance addressing their own needs.
