The Mascenic Vikings basketball team held a dual-purpose fundraiser Saturday at the New Ipswich Fire Department, raising money for team equipment while collecting classroom supplies for local teachers.
Team members washed cars to generate funds for training aids, statistical tracking software, and team-bonding activities.
“This was all their idea. I’m very proud of them,” coach Matt Hagar said.
In addition to the car wash, the players organized a “fill-a-truck” donation drive to collect school supplies. Hagar said he plans to work with guidance offices across the school district to distribute the items to classrooms.
