Over $185,000 in financial aid donated by 36 different businesses, local nonprofits, and private donors was presented to members of the Class of 2026 at ConVal’s annual Scholarship Night June 10 in the ConVal gym.
ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars, a chapter of the national Dollars for Scholar organization, awarded $76,000 in scholarships to ConVal seniors, including individual scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. The program also pairs students with mentors to help guide them through the transition to college.
A total of 45 members of the class of 2026 received scholarships, which can be applied toward trade certifications and tools, college tuition and course fees, books, equipment, supplies, and other expenses.
Jeff and Kathy Fowler, the parents of Seth Fowler, ConVal Class of 2025, presented the inaugural Seth Fowler Memorial Scholarships to two members of the Class of 2026.
The scholarships were awarded to Elijaiha Torres and Degan Wing for pursuing training in the trades in welding and linework.
“We are so proud to be able to help these two men start their careers,” Kathy Fowler said at the ceremony.
Seth Fowler was apprenticing in automotive repair at Fowler Automotive and Fowler Fabrication and Design in Greenfield at the time of his death in October 2025.
