Electric Earth Concerts will continue its 2026 season with โ€œKind of Blue,โ€ a program blending classical and jazz influences, at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the First Church in Jaffrey.

The concert will feature works by Leonard Bernstein, Joan Tower and Derek Bermel, along with world premiere performances by composers Jamie Keesecker and Scott Lindroth.

Performers include pianist Lisa Emenheiser, violinist Ari Streisfeld, cellist Thomas Kraines, violist Jonathan Bagg, flutist and Artistic Director Laura Gilbert, and composer-clarinetist Derek Bermel.

The program includes Bernsteinโ€™s Clarinet Sonata, Bermelโ€™s Thracian Sketches for solo clarinet, Keeseckerโ€™s The Peacocks โ€” a reimagining of Bill Evansโ€™ interpretation of the Jimmy Rowles jazz standard โ€” Lindrothโ€™s Inner Voices for solo viola, and Towerโ€™s White Granite for piano and strings.

Gilbert said the inspiration for The Peacocks grew out of her long fascination with Evansโ€™ recording of the tune on the album You Must Believe in Spring. Keesecker, a Duke University-based composer and Bill Evans scholar, collaborated with Electric Earth Concerts to create the new work.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at ElectricEarthConcerts.org or at the door by cash or check. In an effort to introduce younger audiences to live music, children and their parents will be admitted free of charge throughout the season.
