The Peterborough Town Library will host an artist reception for the exhibit “Historical Paper Marbling” on Friday, Sept. 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Remarks by artist Nik Beauchemin, who serves as the library’s circulation manager, will begin at 5:45 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The collection features historical marbled paper designs common to 18th- and 19th-century books, alongside contemporary marbling techniques. Beauchemin, a bookbinder who trained at the North Bennet Street School, replicates historical paper designs created through a traditional floating-paint transfer process.

The exhibition is on display in the library’s Community Art Gallery through Wednesday, Sept. 30.
