Manchester Community College will host the Americana 250 Exhibition on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of June 12, in celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
The fair-style event will explore the colonial period and the American Revolution through research projects, creative works, performances and demonstrations. Activities throughout the day will include games, crafts, presentations, readings and music.
Exhibits will examine the political, social, economic and cultural dimensions of the era, with an emphasis on local history. Organizers said the exhibition is intended to encourage civic engagement and highlight the complexity of the nation’s past.
The event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include the New Hampshire Humanities Collaborative and MCC’s Department of Social/Behavioral Sciences and Human Services.
