A 17-year-old Jaffrey resident suffered serious injuries in a trail bike crash Sunday evening on private property in New Ipswich, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Conservation officers responded to the scene around 6 p.m. May 31, along with members of the New Ipswich, Jaffrey and Peterborough fire departments, Souhegan Valley Ambulance Service and the New Ipswich Police Department.

Investigators determined the teen was operating a trail bike when he overshot a jump and landed on level ground. Due to the severity of his injuries, emergency personnel requested a medical helicopter.

The teen, who was wearing a helmet, was transported from a landing zone at the New Ipswich Transfer Station by UMass Memorial LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The crash remains under investigation by New Hampshire conservation officers.
