Eligible New Hampshire homeowners can once again apply for property tax relief through the stateโs Low and Moderate Income Homeowners Property Tax Relief program, administered by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration.
According to the department, nearly $1 million in tax relief was distributed to qualifying homeowners in 2025. Since the program began in 2002, more than $50 million in assistance has been provided statewide.
Single homeowners earning up to $37,000 annually and married homeowners or heads of household earning up to $47,000 may qualify for relief. Eligible applicants also must own and reside in a homestead subject to the State Education Property Tax as of April 1, 2025. The maximum homestead value eligible for relief is $220,000.
Applications are accepted from May 1 through June 30, 2026.
The Department of Revenue Administration encourages applicants to file electronically through Granite Tax Connect at gtc.revenue.nh.gov. Paper applications using Form DP-8 are also available through the departmentโs website.
Applicants must submit a completed application, their 2025 federal income tax return and their final 2025 property tax bill. Additional documentation may be required in certain situations, including for properties held in trust or tax bills listing multiple owners.
