Hereโ€™s a look at top performers and key storylines from Franklin Pierce University Athletics over the past week.

No. 19 Softball

Franklin Pierce Softball earned an at-large selection into the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championship and will host an NCAA East Regional pod this weekend at Melissa Bisaccia Field. The Ravens enter the tournament with a 40-10 overall record after capturing the programโ€™s first-ever NE10 Regular Season Championship and earning the first national ranking in program history.

Franklin Pierce, ranked first in the final NCAA East Regional rankings entering selection week, opens NCAA Tournament play against Mercy on Thursday, May 14 at 2 p.m. in Rindge. The regional pod will also feature Caldwell and Assumption in a double-elimination format throughout the weekend. Menโ€™s Golf

Seth Saffellย wrapped up a strong postseason run at the NCAA Division II East Regional in Johnstown, Penn., finishing tied for 22nd overall out of 126 competitors as an individual selection.

Saffell opened the tournament with an even-par 68, recording four birdies and 10 pars to finish the opening round tied for sixth. He followed with a 70 (+2) in round two before carding a 75 (+5) in the final round to finish the tournament at +7 overall. 

Track and Field

Franklin Pierce track & field competed at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championships over the weekend against some of the top programs in New England.

On the womenโ€™s side, sophomore Issys Price placed sixth in the 100-meter dash after running 12.10 in both the preliminaries and finals. In the hammer throw, sophomore Abigail Philbin finished fifth with a throw of 48.61 meters (159-6), while freshman Alexa Sprague placed sixth at 47.16 meters (154-9). Junior Lanette StJohn narrowly missed scoring in the 400-meter dash with a ninth-place finish, while freshman Rachel Leblanc tied for ninth in the high jump.

For the men, junior Viktar Kachalouski led the Ravens with a fourth-place finish in the high jump after clearing 2.01 meters (6-7.00). Freshman Anthony Johnson added an All-New England performance in the triple jump, placing sixth with a mark of 13.46 meters (44-2.00). Senior Connor Wilcox also posted a top-10 finish in the 5,000 meter.
