ConValโ€™s boys and girls track and field teams turned in strong performances at a seven-team meet Monday at Conant High School in Jaffrey, with the boys finishing second with 104 points and the girls placing third with 71 points.

Ross Stephens led the ConVal boys with wins in both the 100-meter dash in 11.13 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 22.03 seconds. Jack Telofski also earned two first-place finishes, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 18.88 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 47.37 seconds.

Other boys event winners included Griffin Schultz in the 400-meter run in 51.28 seconds, Bretton Davies in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 8 inches, and Walter Stephens in the triple jump at 38-9.

Walter Stephens added a second-place finish in the 400-meter run in 52.41 seconds, while Ethan Whitaker placed second in the javelin with a throw of 111-7.

For the girls, Evelyn Webb placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.49 seconds, Amelie Davis was second in the 400-meter run in 1:10.47, Varya Nikitina took second in the 300-meter hurdles in 59.30 seconds, and Sunya Nikitina finished second in the discus at 69-2.

ConValโ€™s 4×100 relay team of Whitney Adair, Stella Arnone, Davis and Larianna Trudel finished second in 56.77 seconds. The 4×400 relay team of Adair, Davis, Sara Mackie and Alia Dodge also placed second in 4:53.16.

Third-place finishes for the Cougars included Varya Nikitina in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.96 seconds, Schultz in the 100-meter dash in 11.45 seconds, Davies in the 200-meter dash in 24.34 seconds, Dodge in the shot put at 24-11 and Adair in the triple jump at 25-3.
