Crotched Mountain in Bennington will honor the memory of Seth Fowler, a gifted and passionate freestyle skier who, according to his family, “grew up at the mountain,” at the annual Cinco de Maydayo event on May 3.
Fowler, an Antrim native, was killed in a car accident in Francestown on October 7, 2025, at the age of 18. His friends, Eli Torres, 19, also of Antrim, and Aiden Brissette, 19, of Bennington, were also killed in the crash.
Sunday’s “Cinco De Maydayo” event at Crotched Parks will donate all proceeds toward improvements to the Antrim Skate Park in honor of Fowler’s passion for skateboarding.
“If you knew Seth, you know that Crotched Mountain and the skate park were his two favorite spots,” said Seth’s mom, Kathy Fowler. “Seth was at the skate park every day the weather allowed in the spring, summer, and fall, and he was at Crotched Mountain as often as I could get him there, from that very first time I watched him come down the mountain in a tuck position โ on his first run ever โ at the age of 5.”
“Cinco De Maydayo” is Sunday, May 3rd, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Crotched Mountain terrain park. Skiers and boarders will be able to hike to the terrain park and enjoy jumps, features, and the last of the season’s snow. The event will include food, raffles, prizes and music. Admission is $10 per skier.
According to Crotched Mountain, the terrain park “still has piles of snow.”
“We are so grateful to all the folks who knew Seth and wanted to do this to honor his memory, and we hope people will come out to support this event. It’s the perfect way to represent and remember Seth,” Fowler said.
Fowler added that she hoped some of Seth’s friends and classmates from the ConVal class of 2024 would come out and “replicate Seth’s tank top skiing.”
