Members of Lyndeborough’s Lafayette Artillery Company attended a Lafayette Day ceremony May 20 in Concord with French Consul General Mustapha Soyk, Gov. Kelly Ayotte, Senate President Sharon Carson and House Speaker Sherman Packard.

During the ceremony, Ayotte read a proclamation recognizing the Marquis de Lafayette’s contributions to American independence ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary and declared May 20, 2026, “Lafayette Day” in New Hampshire.

Soyk also spoke about the longstanding relationship between France and the United States, France’s oldest ally.
