Conant Middle High School environmental science students joined members of the Loon Preservation Committee and the Contoocook Lake Area Preservation Association on Tuesday for a “Loon Cruise” on Contoocook Lake, which spans Rindge and Jaffrey, to observe common loons that make their home on the lake.
LPC biologists talked about loon behaviors and ecology as students cruised around the lake, and explained several interesting loon interactions that the students were able to observe. The students also heard about CLAPA’s efforts to control the spread of invasive species through efforts like the Lake Host boat inspection program.
