The 12th annual Project Linus Make a Blanket Day will be held Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 6 Payson Hill Road, Rindge, sponsored by the churchโs Charity Crafters group.
Attendees will make single-layer polar fleece blankets to be donated to Project Linus, a nonprofit that provides handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or in need. Demonstrations on crocheted-edge, braided and fringed blankets will be offered.
Participants should bring 1ยฝ to 2 yards of fleece or may purchase materials with a donation. Sharp scissors are required. No sewing skills are needed. Lunch will be provided, and attendees may stay for all or part of the event. Completed blankets may also be donated.
The Southwest N.H. chapter has delivered more than 57,000 blankets since 2007.
