New Hampshire entrepreneur and investor Sean Dempsey has released a new personal finance book that challenges conventional wisdom about saving, investing and building long-term wealth.

“Financial Cheat Codes: How to Win the Game of Finance” presents what Dempsey describes as a “road map to financial security,” drawing on strategies he has used in his own business and real estate ventures. The book outlines methods for paying off debt faster, increasing savings and investing with reduced risk, while questioning traditional assumptions such as the necessity of a college degree or the effectiveness of 401(k) plans as the primary vehicle for retirement wealth.

Dempsey frames his approach through an extended video game analogy, describing “cheat codes” as overlooked strategies that can accelerate financial success when properly understood and applied. The 200-page book features multiple full-color, video-game-themed illustrations designed to make complex financial concepts more accessible.

A resident of Stratham, Dempsey owns rental properties and nine businesses in New Hampshire. Over the past 15 years, he founded and operated three New England-based marketing agencies with a combined value exceeding $7 million and launched several startup companies focused on short-term and multifamily real estate. Since 2024, he has focused on writing full time, with an emphasis on education and mentorship.

Dempsey will sign copies of the book on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Toadstool Bookshop in Peterborough.
