Letter: The president must be restrained
2026 woke us with an assault on Venezuela and kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. They were brought to the US for a “fair” trial in NYC or Miami. After “drug” smuggling by small boats was wiped out, our capitalist oil industry will revitalize Venezuela’s oil industry to “make the Venezuelans rich.”
Again, rumblings of Greenland being overtaken by Trump and weapons for Israel to bomb Iran. China has put taking over Taiwan at the forefront again. Is Putin sitting idly by, salivating over Ukraine? If the United States can just take what we want, why can’t any country do as it pleases with its neighbors?
Many of us thought the 2025 antics of the US were bad enough. How do we cease this senseless greed for power and control by a man who continually stuffs his Santa sack with whatever he chooses? Within our country, we have to pay for increased costs of his tariffs, more health insurance fees, and whether grocery, pharmacy, automobile fees, clothing or shoes, it all hits our pocketbooks. The cost of living adjustment for many of those on Social Security does not cover much beyond increased costs of Medicare and supplemental health insurance’s new prices.
The Epstein scandal is pushed aside as new antics take the front stage. New issues pop up and distract our citizens from prior problems. Why do some of our people just continue supporting whatever transpires? We have lost our ability to mind our own business and keep our fingers out of other countries.
This brutality needs to cease. Control of the president needs to be accomplished. How has someone who ignores the law been able to captivate our country and do as he pleases?
