Letter: Operation Santa had a successful year

Operation Santa, a project of the Rindge Woman’s Club, reports another successful year. Gifts were provided to more than 80 children from 32 families to ensure a happy holiday.
A very generous community makes this possible. All who took tags from the “giving trees” at Walmart, Verizon, and Ingalls Memorial town library provided the core of the program. Countless people returned gifts of toys and clothing. Franklin Pierce University provided each child with books in their area of interest, plus funds to cover any additional ones. University Librarian Paul Jenkins coordinated that effort.
Pumpkin Organization of Rindge made sure that all children who needed warm coats and boots were provided for. There were generous donations from community organizations as well. We thank the Jaffrey/Rindge Rotary, RAMS, Jaffrey/Rindge Lions, and the Rindge Chamber of Commerce. FPU’s accounting department adopted a family. TD Bank employees donated a gift card.
In addition, there were monetary gifts from Eleanor Martin, Marjorie Margolis, Marilyn Walker, Charles Branch, Robert Alden, Janice Fiandaca, Kathy and Jim McEchern, and others who wish to remain anonymous. The “elves” of the RWC were invaluable. We thank each and every person and organization that helped.
