Notes, the monthly music-and-spoken-word series at The Optimist Café in Jaffrey, will host its next event on Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 16 Colls Farm Road. The evening features two singer-songwriters and a featured author sharing original work in a winter solstice program accompanied by a full meal.
Dinner, featuring an entrée, salad, and dessert, will be served at 6 p.m., followed by performances from:


- Doug Farrell, an award-winning songwriter known for his warmth, humor, and smooth vocals.
- Sebastian Lockwood, master storyteller and author of “Headless in Hancock 1882.”
- Walden Whitham, a musician and storyteller who blends folk harp with traditional and original tales, including seasonal solstice and holiday pieces.
Tickets are $35 per person. Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling The Optimist Café at 603-593-5389.
