The Town of Antrim has set its property tax rate at $23.11 per $1000 of property value, compared to $20.79 in 2024.
Antrim’s 2024 tax rate was lower after a townwide valuation resulted in higher property values.
For a $400,000 home, an Antrim property owner can expect to pay more than $9,244 per year, distributed across the June and December bills.
In 2024, an Antrim homeowner with a $400,000 home paid $8,196 in property taxes.
At Town Meeting in March, the Select Board reported the town would face an 11% budget increase in 2025, partly due to the need for a new water and sewer infrastructure, including drilling a new town well.
The townโs proposed operatingย budget for the year is $5.3 million, including $738,932 for water and sewer infrastructure. The town also saw an increase of $112,000 in health and dental premiums for town employees.
At the March Town Meeting, Select Board Chair Michael Ott stated, โ7% of the 11% of this budget increase is totally out of our control.โ
According to the state, the total assessed value of the town is $412,694,570, or $437,450,779 including utilities.
The local education tax rate is $7.95%, which is down from last year’s rate of 11.94 %.
ConVal School District officials have stated that a distribution of unreserved fund balance, or money that was budgeted but not spent for various reasons, enabled the district to lower the tax rate on the December bills.
This year’s municipal rate is $7.83, up from $6.74 in 2024.
According to the town, December tax bills have already been mailed.
