The Silentwoods Collective hosted a sold-out “Tavern Night” event on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Hancock Vestry.
The event featured food, live musical performance, and theater inspired by life in the 18th century.

Antrim resident and Monadnock Region native Andrew Koutroubas, founder of the Silentwoods Collective, said the event was the first of its kind the group had organized.
“We are just so thrilled this event was such a success, and we are so grateful for all our volunteers, and especially to the Hancock Historical Society for sponsoring this event,” Koutroubas said.
Musicians at the event were Adrienne Lotto, soprano; Rafa Prendergast, violin; Kelsey Burnham flute and recorder; Andrew Koutroubas and Allen Maracle on cello; Jonathan Luik, double bass; Dani Zanuttini-Frank, lute and guitar; and Hanbyeol Lee, harpsichord.

The Collective performed works by British and early American composers, including Henry Purcell, Daniel Read, Matthew Locke, Johann Pepusch, John Playford and J.S. Bach.
Stagecraft was by Nancy Knowles, Roberta LaPlante, Stephen Burkhardt and Jackie Davis. Galen Kilbride was also in the cast, and musical direction was by Andrew Koutroubas.
Stephen Burkhardt Antiques contributed the props and decor for the set.
The Silentwoods Collective is a group of professional musicians from around the world who are committed to performing world class music and bringing communities together. The members of the collective, most of whom met at the Julliard School, specialize in antique instruments and historical music and performance.

The next Silentwoods Collective event in the Monadnock Region will be “A New England Christmas,” sponsored by the Antrim Historical Society, at Tuttle Library in Antrim on Saturday, Dec. 20.
On Monday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m., Silentwoods will perform “A Baroque Christmas” at the Antrim Presbyterian Church.
