Franklin Pierce University freshman Andrew White has been appointed the student representative to the Jaffrey-Rindge MLK Committee.

White will help plan the regionโ€™s Martin Luther King Jr. Day events, including a community celebration Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at The Park Theatre in Jaffrey and a keynote address Sunday, Jan. 25 at Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge.

White, of Hartford, Conn., is a member of the class of 2029 majoring in business management and considering a minor in sports and recreation management. He interns with Franklin Pierceโ€™s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and belongs to the A.L.A.N.A. multicultural club. He plays forward for the Ravens menโ€™s hockey team and plans to join menโ€™s track and field in the spring. Before enrolling at Franklin Pierce, White spent three years playing junior hockey for the Lake Cowichan Kraken in British Columbiaโ€™s Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.
