In praise of the Peterborough Police Department
First, the bad news: My car was rear-ended in the CVS parking lot.
Now, the good news: The Peterborough police responded to the scene within five minutes; the officer was efficient, kind and competent. She and her colleague found the other driver (who had left the scene) and obtained all the relevant information. My wonderful insurance agent did the rest, and my day began to seem much brighter. This kindness and care reminded me of how fortunate we are to have a police department that truly cares about the people it serves. Fred Rogers always said, “When there’s a crisis, look for the helpers.” My collision was hardly a crisis, but the police were indeed helpers to me.
